Today I ticked over to 3 weeks with Deviant art. In the last 3 weeks I have made some friends, read some beautiful poems, seen some amazing art and stared glassy eyed at some truly remarkable photo's (Honestly go see for yourself ritzyshar59.deviantart.com/).

All I can say is YAY. I know I could have been more eloquent than that but lets be honest why write a paragraph of pretty words when it can be covered by 3 letters eh?

Now I could use some help. It's pay day soon. I haven't treated myself for a long time and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on hardware that I could buy for less than £150 that would make the job of creating and editing easier? I have been looking around and I see that people who take it VERY seriously invest thousands in graphical tablets but I was wondering if anybody had used a multi-touch screen? The reason that I ask is I recently saw an affordable 22" touch screen monitor, fully multi-touch and, well, I haven't been able to get the idea out of my head. Just imagine finger painting with photoshop or better still ZBrush/Mudbox! This would have to be incredible right? I am in two minds, the novelty value of Multitouch would be terrific (not to mention playing games with it) but the sensible part of me says that I should just bite the bullet and get www.ebuyer.com/290055-wacom-ba… some kind of graphics tablet (Actually the really sensible part of me starts jammering on about how skirtingboard is the way it should be but I never listen to him) but look at the potential of this www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004372V7G… and tell me that it wouldn't revolutionize the way that I use my computer in every way? In comparison the substantially cheaper tablet system seems like a waste of money no?

Any experiences that people have with this subject would be really helpful because I am flying blind here - I never trust the manufacturers as they will tell you everything that it will do whilst staying silent about what it won't do (Look at the amazing YouTube on an Ipad for example - Apple would have you believe that it's all there but Adobe would strongly disagree) equally most reviewers give good reviews because they have been "gifted" (read bribed) the device by the manufacturer. Those that haven't don't really point out the downsides of the item they just paid £XXX.xx for in fear of looking dumb for buying it in the first place lol.

For them as hadn't worked it out I am a tech, always will be. I work with computers 24/7 and I am comfortable with a little programming so the idea of integrating an input device into software that doesn't naively support it doesn't daunt me.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SHARE ANY AND ALL EXPERIENCES YOU HAVE WITH THIS SUBJECT EVEN IF IT IS TO SAY THAT YOU STUCK TO MOUSE AND KEYBOARD!

I'll finish with some plugging of folks that are great because erm... They are!

For photographs of incredible skies go here - you won't regret it! ritzyshar59.deviantart.com/

For poetry and short stories go here axlazu.deviantart.com/ and here kaylene-lily.deviantart.com/ as these are some of the finest I've found

For completely mind blowing digital manipulations go here d4n13l3.deviantart.com/ it's always good to see another Asimov fan :)

For 3D models that will make you sick with envy may I suggest here linolafett.deviantart.com/ as well as here nachoriesco.deviantart.com/ and I should note that Nachoriesco has also written some VERY good tutorials that he links from this page - I will be following them closely!

Anyways thanks for reading, and if your reading then thanks for being part of my experience here on Deviant Art:)

Honestly, just a basic wacom tablet works nice, and they go for around 80$USD stateside....don't know how that transfer over into your currency :\

Happy 3 weeks as well ^^ Its been lovely having you around for feedback.

I don't know how well touch screen works for what you do...or for anything for that matter. I don't really trust touch screens, to me it seems they would come with too many faults.
